Born 3rd November 1944 ,died 30th July 2017.
Alan was a member of the Civic Society for many years and served on the Executive Committee and the Planning Group. Latterly he was Treasurer for the Society.
He was concerned about the deterioration in our environment and the state of out town centre. His knowledge was extensive and at planning group meetings he and Dave Cowell would reminisce about particular streets, people’s business’. One of his interests was collecting post cards of the locality – and these he used as part of our quiz at our Festive Meal 2016. He was always willing to participate in our litter collecting, tree planting and was the major enabler of our signs for Cleethorpes and Grimsby on the stations.
Alan was a gentleman in both senses of the word and we will miss his frequent interventions at our meetings as soon as a thought or question came to mind.
