GCDCS’s Executive Committee arranged a meeting with Claire Etheridge of SSNEL/nbforum to explore funding opportunities for projects to further both GCDCS’s profile and contribution to the cultural offering within NE Lincs.

Discussion included:

  • Access to funding towards our providing of Blue Plaques in the area for others’ interest and information
  • Signing up to Funding and Information Fair at Centre4 21st November
  • Role of SSNEL as regards them being a ‘critical friend’ in any bid writing undertaken by the society
  • Possibilities around the production of Town Guides for the public to access from various outlets (paper-based or online), for residents and visitors to find out more about our immediate area; use of QR readers to allow greater access to information for the public
  • Networking opportunities with the aim of increasing our attractiveness to others to not only gain more members but increase our activity within the community.

At the end of the meeting, the Executive Committee felt informed and supported in their ideas and future plans for the Society.  SM
