Mark is proud of the fact that he was born on the Nunsthorpe estate and his local roots are important to him. He studied architecture at Hull University and his practices are in Cleethorpes and Hull.

During his illustrated talk ,he focused on Grimsby after showing us photographs of several of his developments that have received awards. He highlighted that we  have got too many buildings of merit that need more than concern to address their problems - action is required and vision  for their potential, after several consultations over the years have not come to fruition.

The Civic Society is pleased to see his name attached to some of our impressive Victorian/Edwardian buildings being brought back into use as apartments.  He left us, as a Society, with a lot to think about as to addressing our future and he urged us to reach out to the young people of the area, raise their interest and tap into their energy to campaign for Grimsby’s heritage.  “Grimsby has a great story to tell!” he said.
