January's public Talk is about Seaside Piers: Cleethorpes Pier in particular and The National Pier Society in general!
Some of you may already know that speaker Tim Mickleburgh was one of the founders of The National Piers Society in 1978 and is now Hon. Vice-President. The Society is stil going strong.
“The seaside piers around the coast of Britain stand as a powerful reminder of the achievements of Victorian engineers and entrepreneurs. However, of the 100 piers that once graced our coastline, only half survive, and several of these face an uncertain future.” https://piers.org.uk/
